People are so darn emotional about the iPhones today. Way back when, those kinds of feelings were reserved for typewriters.
This little gem of a personal essay that ran in The New York Times in 1915.
Dang right. I do love my gadgets as any good nerd girl does, but really there’s something deeply personal about a typewriter that all the glossy screens in the world just can’t top. Y’know, I thought I was stuck in the ’60s—maybe it’s really 1915.
